Ward Quarry is located on Swan Road, Te Kauwhata in the Waikato region of New Zealand. Founded by the late Murray John Ward whose passion for quarrying lives on today, within the next Ward generation.
With the quarries’ fleet consisting of crushers, diggers, loaders, dump trucks, bulldozers and more, Ward Quarry supplies aggregate to the Waikato and Auckland regions. Supplying aggregate for New Zealand’s driveways, house foundations, roads, stock banks, and even on occasion, household garden features.
The Quarry Software and Solution
From Go-Live on September 01st 2020 Ward Quarries have one of the most technology savvy solutions in quarrying today.
It starts with Licence Plate Recognition (LPR) cameras’ systematically creating Pre-Entry (or vehicle onsite acknowledgement) transactions in WZWeigh.
These same transactions are digitally passed to WZLoad for Operator touch-to-load processing. With vehicles loaded meaning an average of 3 touches on a tablet, (connected to loader scales) vehicles move to the weighbridge for gross weight capture.
Drivers remain in the cab while on the weighbridge with an all-weather WZLoad touch-screen positioned to the right. On display drivers see their vehicle ID, job detail, aggregate, recalled tare weight and of course as per the weighbridge the vehicles gross weight.
A Drivers’ first touch is their vehicle ID, where in A4 format the values above are clearly displayed for checking (otherwise termed New Exit Weigh). The second touch prints the docket with an IP Camera systematcially taking a photo of the aggregate material in the truck and trailer. And we complete this story with seemless API invoice export, into Xero.
From the introductions through to working alongside the team we have not only seen the quarry landscape change but offices have been completely refurbished, a new kitchen installed with new roofing almost complete that will result in a larger staff room with improved ammenities; summarising business growth and success. We welcome Ward Quarries to the WrightZone.
Addline Transport is a family owned and operated transport business located at 940 Welcome Bay Road, Tauranga. Addline Transport have been servicing the Bay of Plenty and beyond for more than 25 years.
Specialising in Bulk Transportation with a fleet of 30 trucks thier market offering extends to a Sales Yard with over 30 aggregates and Clean Fill, Clean Concrete, tipping facilities.
The Addline Team consists of up to 3 Dispatchers, 2 Administration/Accounts Users, 1 Transport Manager, Workshop/Engineering Staff and of course some 30 Operator/Drivers.
Addline Transport is one of the busiest operators WrightZone has had the pleasure of working with. Couple the speed of their operations with their capability and competency to plan into the future, if you know them? You’ll respect them and the way they do business.
The Transport Software and Solution
Go-Live as at the 01st December 2020 saw the Sales Yard setup as its own profit centre, entity. Operator Glenn completes all Load Out’s on his WZLoad tablet (connected to the Loadrite LR2180 loader scales). The Dispatch office manages the Load In’s (Clean Fill, Clean Conrete) and Cash Sale Customers on their office tablet.
The Sales Yard purchases transport services (from Addline Transport) and aggregate from a range of surrounding quarries. The Yard will also bill Addline Transport for aggregate supply where, in turn, Addline Transport (as it’s own profit centre,) will invoice the Customer for aggregate Supply and Delivery. At a high level WZWeigh manages the receipting and sale of aggregate for the yard, which works in providing essential Stock On Hand management visibility and capability.
The Transport Division went Live in Feburary 2021 in phases of 6 Drivers at a time, employing WZBulk as the ‘touch to load‘ technology, in trucks. From 6:30am Dispatch have scheduled job instruction under WZWeigh which are displayed to drivers for job acceptance in thier WZBulk tablets. Job invoicing includes time, tonnage, cubic metre and fixed price with Supply Only, Delivery Only and Supply and Deliver transaction configurations.
My history includes long term experience with leading transport software providers. The WZWeigh difference for us was its unique capability to manage all transport scheduling, time billing and stock management criteria.
From just two months of Go-Live we’ve had 100% uptake with all 30 drivers/operators and because we are averaging in excess of 3000 transactions (some 4000 loads) per month I am extremely confident of our future under WZWeigh, with WrightZone.
Ward Demolition need no introduction; with over 25 years’ experience and recognised leaders in the demoiltion industry, their expertise, innovation and committment is second to none.
Founded in 1987 Ward Demolition boasts 100 excavators, a fleet of 30 truck and trailers convoyed with crushing and screening plants, skid steel loaders, wheel loaders with;
“New machinery on it’s way” comments Peter Ward, Company Director.
The Demolition Software and Solution
“Collaboration and teamwork is the foundation of our business.”
Reinforcing the groundwork of the business that is, Ward Demolition; Go-Live in December 2020 was the most rapid and seemless, WZWeigh implementation experience, we have had to date.
Ward Demolition service the Commerial, Industrial and Residential sectors with a unique and motivating philosophy of ‘reduce, re-use and recycle’.
More than Demolition;
“From the Demo, we’ll extract and transport concrete waste to the yard. We’ll seperate the steel from the concrete, crush it, re-use and recycle it for resale and repurposing.”
“Waste is a conscious decision. When there is no other choice we transport it from Auckland to Envirowaste’s Hamptons Downs, Landfill site. Our concience and respect for the environment ensures a low carbon footprint in being able back-load aggregate from Ward Quarry, (15 minutes away) and either, stock pile into the Onehunga Yard and/or supply and deliver, direct to our clients. ”
For their Demolition Yard based in Onehunga, Auckland, we are tasked with managing their weighbridge operations meaning facilitation of demolition disbursement activities; Load-In, (positive adjustment) and Load-Out (negative adjustment) material quantities.
While there a mutiple facets to the business the primary WZWeigh tools that that make their weighbridge operations work; with smart and seemless intergration is the inclusion of our Myob API’s;
- The WZScheduler Service Myob (WZSS), employed for the syncing and exporting of (external customer) Accounts Receivable invoices from WZWeigh into Myob and,
- MyobSync; used for compare and match between systems in addition to Disbursement Job(s) export into WZWeigh for (internal customer) weighbridge processing. Disbursement activities including costs are then exported back into Myob against the orginating Disbursement Job.
Looking forward, we’re excited about the API intergration of Dual Zone capable, LPR Cameras’ at their Demolition Yard;
- Zone one auto opens WZWeigh’s Exit Weigh screen with Transaction Recall prepopulating all data ready for weighbridge docket save; and
- Zone two auto creates a Pre-Entry transaction ready for Operator loading.
We Welcome Ward Demolition to the WrightZone.
