Brookby Quarries Ltd purchased Brookby Quarry in 1996. The quarry has been in operation in one form or another since 1940 serving the Auckland demand. Brookby Quarry today is a modern well-developed operation capable of producing and supplying 3.5 million tonnes per annum that contributes to Auckland’s growing urbanisation and resulting infrastructure needs. Brookby Quarry now produces a wide range of high-quality products including basecourse, concrete aggregate, asphalt and sealing chip. Brookby Quarry’s total aggregate resource is approximately 270 million tonnes (150 million tonnes of measured resource and 120 million tonnes of indicated resource) as determined by the International JORC code standards. This will enable continuity of aggregate supply to the Auckland market well in excess of 100 years on current demand.
